BEKAH JORDAN (Nasirah 2) has a love for experimentation and a knack for not following “the rules” of traditional art forms. She is the Executive Artistic Director and co-founder of The 5th Wall and has directed and produced eight original productions for the company. She loves every single moment spent creating work collaboratively with actors and interdisciplinary artists to discover stories that inspire wonder, abandon and joy. This year she also co-founded NB Productions, and experimental short film You Can Call Me Light will be released in January 2019. She holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Gordon College with minors in Philosophy and English Literature. As a person who deals with a rare chronic illness every day, the story of Nasirah is extremely dear to her own experience. She hopes that through giving Nasirah a voice to speak about her world, audiences will be able relate to the Nativity story in a new and authentic way.

BEKAH JORDAN (Director, Playwright, Executive Producer)

MADDISON SHEA (Stage Manager) is a Theatre Arts graduate from New England College in 2014. This is her fifth show with The 5th Wall and second time working on The Star at Gordon College. She has stage managed for The 5th Wall including The Quiet Room, BodyBodyBODY and Walk With Me. She has worked on multiple productions creating and building sets as well as operating sound and light boards. She currently works as a Full-Time Sales Leadership at The Container Store.

JILL ROGATI (Scenic Technical Director) Jill, a 2007 Gordon alum, is delighted to add her collaborative, I-like-to-make-stuff background to this beautiful 5th Wall piece. She received her MFA in Actor-Created, Physical Theatre from the London International School of Performing Art (LISPA) in conjunction with Naropa University. Jill has acted as a movement consultant for multiple Gordon theatre productions including Twelfth Night, Metamorphoses, and the Bacchai, and co-directed the student devised piece On Common Ground. She also had the pleasure of teaching the Movement course at Gordon. Outside of Gordon, Jill loves to create whimsical props and puppets and has proudly earned the name Jillpetto.

CASSANDRA WEST (Associate Producer)

JOY JORDAN (Costume & Props Design) is an artist based on the North Shore of Boston. She has found a true passion working in theatre design and has credits in set, costume and props design for multiple companies and projects. Joy has designed some element of every show by The 5th Wall since they were founded in 2012. Her philosophy of design and creation is upcycling: altering pieces that already exist to create something new. This method allows for two beautiful things to emerge: less trash in our “disposable world”, and the challenge to discover wonder in everyday objects that others may see as unfit to be used. She lives in Beverly with her husband and adorable labrador, and enjoys going on adventures with her eight year old grandson.

The 5th Wall would like to thank:

Gordon College, Heather Varela, Luke Miller and the Gordon Theatre Department, Peter Morse, LaVida, Mark Stowell, Jeff Obrien, Kimberly LaCroix, Rachel Gawlak, Christina Chadzinski, Dave Ells, Ken Jordan, Luke Deardorff, No Proscenium, and every one of our gorgeous audience members who truly bring our work to life.
